Big Day In Junior - Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney

SolarBuddy attended The Big Day in Junior in three cities, across 8 days. The event is run by ACS and gives primary school children the chance to take part in exciting sessions relating to STEM and technology subjects.

WiseTech Global partnered with SolarBuddy by kindly donating lights for the children at every event to assemble and give to children living in energy poverty, in PNG. Interns from WiseTech global also volunteered their time to support SolarBuddy at the event, which was greatly appreciated! SolarBuddy’s CEO Simon Doble and Education Liaison officer, Billie Murphy, presented to 1800 children over the three events.

The children learnt about energy poverty, renewable energy and global citizenship, before assembling their very own lights. Once the lights had been made, they each wrote a letter explaining who they were and why they wanted to donate the light. The events were a huge success and we had a great time meeting lots of students, teachers and other organisations involved.
