SolarBuddy was recently granted the Community STEM Engagement Grant to support the development of STEM programs at schools in Australia.
Our Education Program encourages student collaboration, inter-culture understanding, creative and critical thinking while inspiring students to consider how innovative design solutions can offset the impact of energy poverty.
SolarBuddy got involved in the World Thinking Day for Girl Guides, which was the perfect opportunity for students to learn about renewable energy while building lights for communities living in energy poverty.
Girl Guides and Girl Scouts have been celebrating World Thinking Day since 1926 and it has been an important fundraising day since 1932.
The World Thinking Day Fund collects pennies and coins from members around the world, to support their fellow Guides and Scouts. All donations help fund WAGGGS activities and are used where the need is greatest in our global Movement.
The girls excitedly built the lights while learning about energy poverty!
