STEAM in Coogee

A strong believer in encouraging the next generation of technology professionals, WiseTech Global has long been a supporter of university and high school programs designed to inspire the next generation of innovation leaders. However the company also understands the importance of equipping even younger students with the skills for employment in a globalised and high tech world.

With this in mind, WiseTech Global took part in Coogee Public School’s first STEAM day, to promote education in Science, Technology, Engineering the Arts and Mathematics. It ran a workshop, in association with registered charity SolarBuddy, in which students built solar lights to send to Ethiopia to help battle energy poverty, and a computer science workshop where students decrypted binary codes to reveal secret messages and solve a mystery.

Over the course of the day, students from Kindergarten to year 6 attended a number of sessions to learn new skills, experiment and collaborate in a fun, relaxed environment.
